What is vacation ownership?
In the simplest terms, vacation ownership allows you to purchase, under deeded ownership, a certain amount of time you can use to take a vacation in one of our all-villa resorts, every year, or every other year.
Depending on the type of villa, you may exchange or trade your accommodations, split larger accommodations into smaller accommodations for longer periods of time, or enjoy the flexibility of exchanging your accommodations within Starwood Vacation Network(SM). You may also convert your vacation ownership interest to Starwood Preferred Guest® Starpoints®, which can be redeemed for an array of travel rewards, including free hotel stays and flights. |

What do the terms "Fixed" and "Float" mean?
A Fixed villa type is purchased for a specific week(s) and/or villa type for use at a specific resort.
A Float villa type is purchased for use within a designated "floating" season. |

What is meant by "Home Resort"?
With Starwood Vacation Ownership, your Home Resort is the location where you purchased your vacation ownership interest. |

What is a two-bedroom lockoff villa?
A two-bedroom lockoff villa typically consists of two one-bedroom villas that can be used together or separately. |

What is a "Use Year"?
The calendar year (January 1 – December 31), either annual or biennial (odd or even years). |

What are StarOptions and how do I use them to visit another
resort in Starwood Vacation Network?
StarOptions® are the points assigned to each villa based on resort, villa type and season. You may convert your vacation interest into StarOptions and use those to visit another equivalently valued resort in Starwood Vacation Network(SM). |

How is Starwood Vacation Ownership associated with
Starwood Preferred Guest?
Starwood Preferred Guest® is the industry's leading guest rewards program. Starwood Vacation Network(SM) members have the ability to convert their vacation ownership interest to Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints®. Exchange value is assigned to each villa based on resort, villa type and season.
Starpoints can be redeemed for free nights at more than 940 hotels and resorts worldwide with no blackout dates. Starpoints can also be redeemed for free flights, merchandise with several leading retailers and discounts on car rentals. Please note, villa conversion for Starpoints is allowed in non-consecutive Use Years. Lockoff Owners may request the conversion on one side of the lockoff into Starpoints one year and the other side the following year. When an Owner wishes to convert the entire lockoff they will be eligible to do so during the next non-consecutive Use Year.

If I want to visit another Starwood Vacation Network resort,
how far in advance may I call?

You can reserve a week or more beginning on an established check-in day at any Starwood Vacation Network(SM) resort, including your Home Resort, in a different villa type and/or season than you own. Simply request reservations beginning eight months prior to your desired arrival date, during the Starwood Vacation Network Float Period. Vacations for more than seven days must begin or end on an established check-in day.

If I want to visit another resort in the Starwood Vacation
Network, how far in advance may I call?
Reserve a week (or more), beginning on an established check-in day, at any Starwood Vacation Network resort (or at your Home Resort) in a different Villa type and/or Season than you own. You may request reservations beginning 8 months prior to your desired arrival date, during the Starwood Vacation Network Float Period. Vacations for more than 7 days must begin or end on an established check-in day.

I would like to make a reservation, using StarOptions, for less
than seven days. When can I call to reserve that?
You may request reservations beginning 90 days prior to your desired arrival date, during your Starwood Vacation Network(SM) Options Period. Reserve less than a week at your Home Resort or another Starwood Vacation Network resort in any villa type or season, checking in on any available day.

When must I decide if I want to convert my vacation ownership
interest into Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints?
If you want to convert your vacation ownership interest to Starwood Preferred Guest® Starpoints®, you may notify Owner Services between the dates of October 1 of the Use Year prior to the Use Year being converted and March 31 of the Use Year that is being converted. You will receive your Starpoints approximately 72 hours after the conversion is confirmed. |

How do I make travel plans using my Starpoints?
Once you have converted your week into Starwood Preferred Guest® Starpoints®, you can call 888.625.4988 to make your reservations by phone or visit starwoodhotels.com to search for Starwood hotels and book online. Call the same number to convert your Starpoints into airline tickets. To check your Starpoints account balance, visit SPG.com. |
