With Starwood Vacation Ownership, you can open the door to the most captivating world of wonder for your entire family. Whether vacationing with toddlers, teenagers or children somewhere in between, the diverse collection of resorts in Starwood Vacation Network(SM) truly offers something for everyone. Offering a wide variety of special areas and programs dedicated to providing children with a fun, exciting and safe atmosphere, our resorts help you create a lifetime of lasting memories.
Water activities are a big part of just about every family vacation. Wherever you are, and whatever time of year, children are happy to play in the water all day if you let them. At most every resort, the first thing the children see is the centerpiece of the resort—the swimming pool.
While many of our resorts generally feature more than one swimming pool, some feature many more. For instance, Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando features seven outdoor swimming pools, while the amenities available at Harborside Resort at Atlantis include several swimming pools and waterslides.
Kids can also grab a tube and let their imaginations go as they float on the lazy river rides that meander through many resorts. Other water activities include specially designated children's pools, zero-entry pools and interactive fountains in which to splash and play. Dive-in movies also allow children and their parents to watch movies from the pool on warm summer nights.
At Sheraton Mountain Vista and Lakeside Terrace, our two ski resorts in Avon, Colorado, water is also a main attraction—frozen water. Kids love riding the gondola to the top of the mountain where they can ski, snowboard, tube, sled and play in the snow all day. There's also ice-skating and family sleigh rides, topped off with evenings sitting around the fireplace, sipping hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows.
All Starwood Vacation Ownership Resorts feature programs geared to encourage children to explore different interests while having fun. From resort to resort, you'll find a wide variety of arts and crafts programs, plus activities such as scavenger hunts, fuse bead art, jewelry making, face painting, children' karaoke, nature explorations, sandcastle building, swimming and water games. Some resorts have basketball, tennis and volleyball courts for the sports-minded children.
Video arcades, always an attraction for the older children, offer hours of entertainment, and some of our resorts provide Sony Playstation® 2 systems, flat-screen TVs, DVDs and games to satisfy every child's dreams.
And, if you happen to have a little golfer in the family, there are miniature golf courses—not to mention pro-golf camps at Sheraton PGA Vacation Resort in Port St. Lucie, Florida. At The Westin Kierland Villas you and the family can even experience golf in air-conditioned carts or bring a new element of fun and flexibility to the golf experience with a Segway® Golf Transporter (GT)®. And if that's not enough, two 18-hole signature championship golf courses beckon and challenge you to tee-up at The Westin Mission Hills Resort & Villas.
A unique feature at our Westin Vacation Ownership resorts is Westin Kids Club. This year-round program for children up to 12 years old offers regularly scheduled activities sponsored by the resort, plus check-in amenity bags, complimentary services, and meals geared toward children. For parents of infants, all the comforts of home are available—from bottle warmers to jogging strollers—free of charge.
In 2006, Westin Kids Club will feature several new enhancements to encourage exploration, discovery and togetherness. The Westin Kids Club Discovery Rooms are headquarters for much of the fun.
Kids will be treated to on-site fun through a Discovery Tour of the resort; a Taste Adventure in local fare; Westin Kids Workout(SM); the Local Vocal(SM) program incorporating music, language and storytelling; a Photo Adventure program; and Stargazing.
Off-site excursions are also available so children accompanied by a parent can explore attractions outside the resort. You'll be able to contact your resort's Concierge staff to learn more about these exciting new opportunities.
